Oh. My. God.

I had a totally faboo weekend. I saw Pearl Jam and Tom Petty at Summerfest on Thursday and Friday nights, and Dave Matthews Band at Alpine Valley on Saturday and Sunday nights. In addition to seeing great bands, I met a number of really cool people. Aside from the music, it's definitely the people that are my favorite part of the shows. Everyone comes together for the music, and it's just great to talk to everyone.

What's on tap for the week? Well, I'm going to see Wilco on Wednesday night (I guess that's tomorrow!), and aside from that, I don't really have any plans. I love summer.

Today I went to a birthday party and had way too many beers. How do I know I had too many? Because I can't remember how many I had. I also caught the Waukesha fireworks. I must say I was disappointed in those. After the finale was over, I said, "Is that it?" That was it.

My parents went to hot dog bobblehead day at the Brewers game today. I am very jealous. I can't complain too much, though, as they are giving me one of their bobbledogs. :)

At the moment I am *finally* watching Pearl Jam Storytellers. I must say that it is quite good. Although they have already revealed that they won't be playing "Rearviewmirror" ... I suppose I can deal with that.

Enjoy the show!!!

Slacker!

Whoa!! I've been slacking on this blog. I promise many new and exciting things are on the way.

Yeah, right!!

Seriously, though, I will make an effort to post more often.  So stay tuned.

rock. and. roll.

I went to see Coldplay at Alpine Valley on Saturday night.  What a great show.  There was a general admission pit section right up in front of the stage.  So that's where I stood for about four hours.  And it was worth it.  I'll put it this way, I was so close that I could see what color the band members' eyes were.  What a great show.  More about it here.

album release party

Freshwater Collins is holding their album release party at Shank Hall in Milwaukee on Saturday, October 1.  Advance tickets will be available through Ticketmaster.  Get your tickets early because their last show at Shank sold out!  See you at the show!!!

photo archive

I have started digitizing all of my old photo negatives and slides.  I am coming across some of the weirdest stuff that I do not even remember.  For instance, I found a picture of some guy's ass.  And I have no idea whose ass it is.  I found some bizarre pictures from college that I do not remember posing for.  I suppose I partied more back then than I thought I did?  I'll pick the best of the best and post them here soon.

Good deal

I went to Kohl's today.  They remodeled the store in Delafield and sent out $10 gift cards as part of a grand reopening hoopla promotion.  I also had $35 in store credit to spend that was burning a hole in my wallet.

I left Kohl's with a crockpot and a curling iron.  I have $10 in store credit leftover.  I don't know how they can afford to let that happen, but I like it!  The crockpot will be very helpful in preparing super tasty meals with little to no effort, which is fabulous for a little girl like me who has a sore back.

band

Freshwater Collins, my favorite local band, is releasing a new album in June.  I urge you to visit their website to download and listen to tracks from their new release.  Share the tracks with your friends.  Catch one or more of their live shows.  They are a great band with a great sound.

Sleepless

I can't sleep.

My mind is racing and I am wide awake.

I just can't sleep.

I self-medicated before I went to bed because my back was killing me.  And guess what ... my back is still killing me.

I suppose that this is almost ok, because Family Guy is just starting right now.

I took another magic pill a few minutes ago.  Hopefully this one will do the trick.

Goodnight (maybe).

Boycott *$

The next vacation that I take is going to be to someplace that doesn't have a *$.

Finding said destination is becoming increasingly difficult.

Corporate coffee sucks.

Star Wars, Wonderful Star Wars

Six movies and twenty eight years later, it's done.  I saw Episode III tonight.  And good it was.

I definitely like that the movies were not made in chronological order.  There were so many things that were tied together in Episode III, not just the Darth Vader part of it.  If the movies had been done chronologically, there wouldn't have been such a mysterious element to certain things that were in Episodes IV-VI.
